Here's another question. What do I need to pack for the hospital? What kinds of things were you missing that you wish you had? The only thing I remember from 19 years ago is that I packed my clothes with the delusion that once the baby popped out my clothes would fit again! I had to go home in the maternity clothes I'd arrived in days early much to my dismay. So I DO know to pack maternity clothes not pre-maternity clothes. I'm a
little wiser 19 years later! LOL

I would recommend bringing your own pillow. If Steve plans to stay overnight with you, bring several blankets because the pull-out couches are not that comfy. Don't forget toiletries and a brush and hair-tie. I didn't have one during labor and borrowed one from a friend to get my hair out of my face. I brought books and magazines, but didn't get around to reading them. Oh, and don't forget BABY CLOTHES! They only give you a hat and diapers. Is your carseat already in the car, just in case? Oh, and we had a garbage bag in the car just in case my water broke on the way to the hospital. Man, lots of stuff . . .
Thanks, Shannon. I ALWAYS bring way too much reading material EVERYWHERE I go. My husband just expects it now. When we drive to Idaho (a 10-12 hour drive) I have at my feet taking up way too much space, a small backpack of reading material for the week, a camera bag and my pocket book. He doesn't even comment anymore, he just expects it. And I NEED that reading material right at my feet---even though I sleep most of the way LOL it's like my security blanket. I guess I'll have a small baby as my security now!
Definitely bring some lotion or moisturizer and some mints. The hospital never has those.
Thanks Christina, I seem to remember Tylenol costing about $8 per pill. If I remember right, when my son was born, one day his dad had a headache and the nurse explained it would be cheaper if he went out to the street to buy a bottle of tylenol since one pill would cost $8 and just be added on to the insurance bill.
Hi Marissa -
All right...bring a blanket for you, and one for the baby - sometimes it's drafty in there. Also, socks for you. Paper, pencil/pen - to jot down things to remember or a few passing thoughts. Magazines. Today's newspaper. A couple of tiny baby outfits. Soap. Lotion for your face. A nail file. A breast feeding pillow. And, a cell phone & charger.
Whoo - here we go!
