THE COLLECTION PLATE

Not much has been going on--as you can imaging. Thank you everyone for constantly asking what I need and what you can do for me. It's hard to accept help and most of the time I am just fine and managing fine on my own. Steve is working his tail off and needs to take better care of himself and I feel guilty that I should be doing more to take care of him....but I can't go and help him out physically as I usually do. I can't even drive around comparison shopping for him.

There are two things we could use for anyone who is really eager to help out. And mind you, we would would LOVE to give back to you over the summer. I can tutor your kids or do some of your scrapbooking for you and Steve can do some 'honey do' lists for you. First, we could use some dinners this week. There are 5 of us here this week and it's a little overwhelming. Tomas is working late hours until Friday so I can't conscript him into cooking. I'm allowed to sit for about an hour so will instruct the kids cooking tacos--their favorite--tonight as we haven't had it in a couple of weeks and they are begging for it. It'll be good, they'll see how much work such a simple meal is!! And I have a frozen lasagna...that leaves 3 more days I need to plan for.

The other thing I was thinking is...I guess I'm a little old fashioned here...I still make everyone's lunches in the morning. If I don't give Steve a lunch he will not eat all day. That's just the way he is. I totally forsee this summer, sleeping in while he's up and out by 7 and i'm still exhausted. What I think he would really use and appreciate are gift cards or coupons to Carls Jr. and Jack in the Box. If he had those, he would use them. When he comes home after working in 100+ heat this summer, grouchy, saying he hasn't eaten all day... I know that Catholic guilt will just grip my soul!

I hate to ask, but some of YOU have been asking....and I really appreciate it. These past couple of days I've been "feeling my age." Steve asked "What's that" I answered "Around 60." He said "You mean 40 and pregnant?" My reply "Is there a difference?" Whaaaaa. I guess everyone ought to get used to my whining to ease them into a crying baby! Nah, babies are A LOT cuter than I am!! LOL

Thanks for all the well wishes...a friend of mine stopped by on her way to work this a.m. having just heard the news to "see if it was really true." We had a couple of good laughs then she asked when I was due and when I said "A couple of weeks." She nearly fell over! LOL Then I got a good laugh!!

He is beautiful. I was so glad to see him. I am the lady who sat across from you at the dinner. I am so blessed to know you and welcome Charles into the Children's Department!
Love,
La Dona
