FREE TIME

I can't believe how small this little guy is! I look at our other boys and can't believe he'll actually grow up to be a "big boy" one day. I also can't believe I carried around something so big in my belly! Yesterday Charles weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz. Tomas was 8 1/2 lbs when he was born...so Charles still isn't even as big as Tomas was...I just can't believe how tiny life can be.

"What's that you say, Daddy?"

SKINNY PANTS!!

HEY!! I fit into my first pair of pre-maternity pants yesterday!! I did not see this coming 2 weeks ago as I came home from the hospital looking like I was about ready to give birth. Last week I could not get these pants zipped up all the way but yesterday they zipped AND buttoned COMFORTABLY i might add. Now, I really need to layoff and straighten out my diet. I had chocolate cake for lunch the other day.

FATHER'S DAY!!

Having spent Mother's Day with our good friends the Whites...it was great to spend such a blessed Father's Day with them too. Just last week little Nora was rubbing my belly squealing how excited she was that I was having a baby. She poked my belly today when I said "Look, Nora, he's not in my belly any more, he's over there!"

And of course the best Father's Day present of all...

HOMECOMING!!!

What would I do without Steve?! I watched a video on this car seat but when it came to the real thing I couldn't figure out what clicked where. Steve clicked Charles Edward in snug and sound away we went. I don't know how he knows the things he knows.

Everyone LOVES holding the baby!!

Bear doesn't know what to do with the sounds that come out of this thing.

VISITORS WELCOME!!

I just spoke with the Dr. this afternoon and though we had already figured this out...Sneaker will be arriving officially by c-section this TUESDAY June 10 at 5pm. Seems kind of wierd knowing all this in advance but such is modern medicine.

I'll be an Mercy San Juan on Coyle Ave. I'll be there until Friday evening and I would LOVE to have lots of visitors. I've already spent so much time by myself lying down at home so company will be VERY welcome....starting Wed. of course!! lol

Looks like our adventure is about to REALLY begin!!!!

This, by the way is Bear. She's been my constant companion these past 2 weeks. Poor girl, little does she know, her recently elevated posititon in our family was but short lived. Is there a dog whisperer in the house, this little one is the one most likely to suffer baby envy when Sneaker gets here.

And bring any magazines you plan on tossing!!! I know I wont be able to hold two thoughts together for a while and I've gone through all we have here. I don't care how old they are I'm a little out of the loop anyway!

TODAY'S UPDATE

Well, more prayers are in order. Sneaker is lying sideways rather than in a headstand. Just like mom. He's supposed to be in a headstand but i guess he doesn't know that. We didn't get any really good shots of him so I wont post what they gave me. I have to trust that when the ultra sound tech says "there's the foot" it's a foot b/c it doesn't look like much to me! she got a profile, but it's not as good as the one on the side bar here. Anyway, he's lieing sideways...as in across my belly...so that's what all that kicking on one side is...kicking. He's facing down so that's what all that little tickling is, him tickling or moving his fingers...So we'll see what the dr. says on Wed. Babies can't be born belly first so I'd have to have a c-section if he doesn't move.
Reminds me of when my dad took us to the ocean and taught us then when we were taken up in a wave and tossed about to go "stiff as a board!! stiff as a board!!!" it stops the tossing from the wave so you can get back to head first. that's what little Sneaker needs..all of us to yell "stiff as a board!" so he'll stop tossing about and find where his first breath of fresh air will come from.

MOVIE LIST

Just got back from doc blood sugar down BP back up!!! argghhh. actually yesterday and today I've been really tired--sleepy tired..thought that "meant something" but no...here I lie still without a baby in my arms. The dr. thinks he's lieing sideways instead of head down so I go for another ultrasound tomorrow. Yeah, more pictures perhaps!!
So send in your movie picks! I've wathced some really crappy ones lately. Sorry you can't fool me, I don't care how many awards a movie has won, the one about Bob Dylan "I'm not there" was really awful. I like good plots, stories, good acting-even if sometimes the movie isn't that good, there's usually something good to appreciate. A good 'chick flick' of course never goes unappreciated either--remember I'm the only girl in the house, i might as well milk this for all it's worth. i've seen 27 Dresses as well as the one with Hillary Swank and her dead Irish husband who leaves her love notes after he dies to get her thru it all. I can't remembr the name but I liked them both.
THANKS!!
check back tomorrow for some possible ultrasound pics

THE COLLECTION PLATE

Not much has been going on--as you can imaging. Thank you everyone for constantly asking what I need and what you can do for me. It's hard to accept help and most of the time I am just fine and managing fine on my own. Steve is working his tail off and needs to take better care of himself and I feel guilty that I should be doing more to take care of him....but I can't go and help him out physically as I usually do. I can't even drive around comparison shopping for him.

There are two things we could use for anyone who is really eager to help out. And mind you, we would would LOVE to give back to you over the summer. I can tutor your kids or do some of your scrapbooking for you and Steve can do some 'honey do' lists for you. First, we could use some dinners this week. There are 5 of us here this week and it's a little overwhelming. Tomas is working late hours until Friday so I can't conscript him into cooking. I'm allowed to sit for about an hour so will instruct the kids cooking tacos--their favorite--tonight as we haven't had it in a couple of weeks and they are begging for it. It'll be good, they'll see how much work such a simple meal is!! And I have a frozen lasagna...that leaves 3 more days I need to plan for.

The other thing I was thinking is...I guess I'm a little old fashioned here...I still make everyone's lunches in the morning. If I don't give Steve a lunch he will not eat all day. That's just the way he is. I totally forsee this summer, sleeping in while he's up and out by 7 and i'm still exhausted. What I think he would really use and appreciate are gift cards or coupons to Carls Jr. and Jack in the Box. If he had those, he would use them. When he comes home after working in 100+ heat this summer, grouchy, saying he hasn't eaten all day... I know that Catholic guilt will just grip my soul!

I hate to ask, but some of YOU have been asking....and I really appreciate it. These past couple of days I've been "feeling my age." Steve asked "What's that" I answered "Around 60." He said "You mean 40 and pregnant?" My reply "Is there a difference?" Whaaaaa. I guess everyone ought to get used to my whining to ease them into a crying baby! Nah, babies are A LOT cuter than I am!! LOL

Thanks for all the well wishes...a friend of mine stopped by on her way to work this a.m. having just heard the news to "see if it was really true." We had a couple of good laughs then she asked when I was due and when I said "A couple of weeks." She nearly fell over! LOL Then I got a good laugh!!
